resolutions

It's time to review my resolutions from last year!

1. Make an effort to go to the SLC to exercise at least 1 time per week. --> HAHAHAHAHAAHAHHAHAHAHHA. I can't believe I actually thought this was going to happen.
2. Watch every episode of Lost and Alias. --> Almost. Though luckily I realized these shows sucked and stopped watching. Oh and I didn't watch any in the fall, but that's because of resolution #4.
3. Learn at least 1 new song on guitar. --> Yes. Woo. But I probably don't remember it anymore.
4. Go to England. --> Ah, yes, finally, I did one of my resolutions.
5. Please please please get a freaking job. --> Did that too.

So, 2005 was significantly more successful than 2004. I accomplished about half of my resolutions. So uh, now for this years.

1. Become a vegetarian. Yeah, crazy, but I find that I just keep eating fried chicken and like no vegetables, so I'm going to try this because I've been wanting to anyways.
2. Get a 4.0 this semester.
3. Get a little in KD.
4. Make at least one really really really good project in PM2. To make up for all that shit I produced in PM1.

Okay, so, here goes. The next week I will be perpetually busy. I'm in my new apartment now and I think I'm going to be doing quite a bit of decorating... as soon as the old roommates move all their stuff out. This should be fun... :)

So it's like 2006 now... I'm in Waco... I hung out with a bunch of people I didn't know, they were all drunk. Tonight I'm crashing at Carmen's because my roommate isn't back until tomorrow so I can't get into my apartment until then. I made some new years resolutions but I'll post them later cuz I think I'm going to shower now. I finally read all my old friends pages, you people got nice stuff for Christmas. I got a remote control racecar. And it wasn't even a cool one, it's like tiny. Oh and Star Wars III, Ray, and the Aqualung CD... and a shirt. My sister got a crapload of nice shit. Yeah, my parents totally don't like like her better or anything... whatev. Tomorrow I get to see all my sisters again so I am excited like woah. Today I went down to the KD room and helped Becky sort nametags. It was great being back in there... Though I guess I might not still be so excited about it after a week or so... Hehe. Anyways, that's all for now. Shower time!

I'm currently in El Paso, Texas. Yippee skippy! El Paso is well known for its... uh... well... there's nothing in El Paso, and there's even more nothing 200 miles in any direction from El Paso. Oh, except the Sun Bowl, which is on Friday, yet somehow we still managed to find a hotel with free wireless internet. Oy! Umm... I haven't written in a while, so Christmas was pretty awful overall, but I did get Star Wars and Ray on DVD. Today we drove from Indio, California all the way here. Umm... Really, I haven't got much to say. I expect to be in Waco by noon on the 31st. Soo that should be... fun. We're gonna get to my grandmother's tomorrow night. 677 miles. Oh yeah. Texas is bloody huge. It is the same distance to drive from the border of Cali/Arizona to El Paso as it is to drive from El Paso to College Station. That is just not right. Plus, for some reason El Paso decided to be in a different time zone from the rest of Texas. Bloody loonies. Okay, I think my battery is gonna die soon, so I'm off for now.

Wooo

Well, my last post is about Thanksgiving and it's now December, so I guess it's time to update. I'm uber stressed out, for various reasons. One being the mass amount of work I have to do... an English paper, a History paper, and a short original screenplay all due in a little over a week, plus a physics exam. What have I done? Well, I still have to finish reading Jane Eyre in order to write my English paper, though luckily that will be reasonably simple once the book is done... Then the History paper requires mass amounts of research... oh and also requires me actually deciding on a topic. The screenplay currently has absolutely no story at all thus hasn't started, and the physics exam... Well I got a B on the last one so I'm not too worried.

I'm supposed to be jotting down story ideas to send to my instructor tomorrow. I can't think of anything. I've been reading old LJ posts in order to try and spark some kind of creativity. I think it's my room is just not condusive to writing. I'm thinking tomorrow I'll have to hop on the tube and go somewhere else to write. Maybe the park. Who knows. Anyways, hopefully I'll not procrastinate as much this time and actually do a good job on my work. Hahaha.

Anyways, yesterday was totally fun. I know all these USC kids here so we went to this BBQ place to watch the USC/UCLA game. I borrowed a shirt. It was awesome. All these nasty Longhorns were there watching the UT/Colorado game that was on before it. Omg and we had babyback ribs, they were FANTASTIC. I miss bbq. Then the place like closed at halftime so we had to move and go to this sports bar for the rest of the game. It was so fun. They played cheesy music too. There were nasty Longhorns there too, but not as many. Ooh and at the first place we got a huge pitcher of Strawberry Daquiri and it was sooo good. Anyways, that's all for now.

thanksgiving

For the third year running, I've spent thanksgiving away from home. However, this was the first one that I've spent with absolutely no family at all. When I really think about it, though, I think this may have been the best thanksgiving I've ever had. Sure, I spent it with a bunch of people I've only known about two months, I'm in London where they don't even HAVE thanksgiving, we accidentally started a gravy fire and set off the fire alarm, and my pie burnt in the oven, but when I was thinking back about all the thanksgivings I've celebrated before, they all mush together into a big empty blur of too much food and too big of a table for the four of us, and three weeks of leftover turkey after. I can't really remember anything special about any other Thanksgiving I've had. Last year's I don't remember at all, except for of course that I spent it with my Aunt Sharon in Dallas. I'm sure she cooked dinner, and I probably went shopping with Sara... The year before I remember nothing but the relief I felt returning to Baylor after being at my grandmother's with Jocelyn for the week, and feeling like such shit for being such a bitch to her the whole time.

It was just great to sit around and talk and just like, I dunno, have fun? Plus the food was fantastic. Just like my dad could cook, if not better. I made my mom's apple pie, and it turned out much better than the one I made for Pi Kapp, aside from the slight burnage on the top. Yeah, so, it was a really good time, and that's about all I've got to say for it.

I should probably go ahead and list what I'm thankful for. For some reason I was under the impression I'd done this in my journal the last 3 years, but apparently I didn't. I guess it's about time. I've got to be thankful for something, right?

I'm thankful for my sorority. Definitely. My first year and a half of college was so terrible, and I can't even begin to describe how grateful I am for all the fantastic friends I've made in KD. I love every single one of you.

I'm thankful for my friends from Alexander. I'm so glad they were there for me when certain other people on my floor were making me crazy. It's great that we're still such good friends even though we've all gotten involved in such different things. I love you guys!

I'm thankful for my best friends in Davis. Staying at home with my mother all summer would make me absolutely crazy if I couldn't have movie nights or CTF or Baker's Square at 11 at night or even driving out into the boonies and having to fight my way past scary spiders to watch a movie. Love love love.

I'm thankful for my mom. She's amazing, I don't care what you say.

I'm thankful for my sister. She is the coolest kid in the entire world.

I'm thankful for all the friends I've made here in London. I know I'm horribly shy and awkward when I go somewhere new and I don't know a single person, but it's really great that I've made such awesome friends so quickly. Europe just wouldn't have been as cool without them.

I'm thankful for the London Underground because I can go anywhere I want and I don't have to bum rides of off people and feel bad like I've done for the past two years in Texas.

I'm thankful for God because he loves me.

There that is. I sure hope I didn't forget anything important. I'm really tired right now, so it's quite possible.

I've now seen Harry Potter twice and I cried both times. Even though I knew what was going to happen. Obviously. Daniel Radcliffe's performance is simply riviting. Emma Watson's acting skills could use some work... unless of course those awkward pauses between words aren't her forgetting her lines... PoA is, as always, my favorite, but man that Fred Weasley is a hottie.

harry potter everywhere!

To start off, I absolutely need this shirt.

Anyways, the past week has been... well mostly boring, but last weekend was fun.

First off, on Saturday, all the Harry Potter posters went up, which of course, makes nerdy old me incredibly excited. It's fantastic. There's posters on the buses, there's posters at every bus stop, and there's one of those big changing signs on the way to the underground station with a huge Harry Potter banner on it. I love being able to go out and see Harry Potter EVERYWHERE. Because, as I have already made quite clear, I am a nerd.

Anyways, Saturday was Guy Fawkes Day, so Julie and I went to the Fireworks show at Alexandra's Palace. Well, first we were gonna go to this other bonfire and fireworks show, but we got there at 5, it was supposed to start at 6, and there was literally NOBODY there. So we got back on the Picadilly line and went entirely across town (yeah, like an hour and a half on the underground, oy). Luckily Alexandra's Palace had a big thing, complete with annoying radio DJs and french people standing next to us smoking right in the middle of a huge crowd. The fireworks were bloody fantastic though. Plus, they were up on a hill so before it started you could look out over all of town and see fireworks going off like everywhere. Because they sell professional-grade fireworks like at the supermarkets here. No joke. It was quite pretty. After walking back to the tube station and seeing that the line was all the way out the door and down the street (because everyone had to go home the same way, basically) we decided to go see Elizabeth town at the cinema right across the street. It was an hour until the next show, so we went and found a little chinese restaurant. Of course, the fireworks having just ended, it was crowded as all heck, but we managed to get our food pretty quick and also managed to eat it even though the lady at the next table decided it would be a good idea to take off her shoes during dinner and wiggle her toes around.

The movie was quite cute, not the best ever, but it wasn't bad. Though it went on for bloody ever and we literally JUST made the last tube back to Holborn. Then we had to catch the bus, but that wasn't so bad, because the bus that passes campus goes right through Holborn. Good thing we didn't have to get a bus from Wood Green or we'd have been screwed.

Anyways, Sunday was the World Premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, so of course I had to go for reasons already stated above. Apparently you have to be an even bigger loser than me and go to the day before and camp out if you actually want anybody's autograph, but luckily there was a big screen so we could watch what was going on. And just the fact that I was like within the same city block as James Phelps, Matthew Lewis, Harry Potter, and the kid that plays Cedric Diggory is just beyond exciting to me. Plus they had the whole square decorated all cute. I went back the next day to take pictures in the daylight but I got there a bit too late and they were already taking everything down. I thought about begging for one of the Hogwarts banners, but I got closer and realized they were really huge and probably uber heavy, so I didn't. Plus I'm scared of construction guys. Besides, it's bad enough I have that Prisoner of Azkaban banner that turned out to be way too big for my room.

Anyways, for the rest of the week I've been "doing homework," which of course means procrastinating by watching Scrubs again (I've gotten rusty, it was about time I go back through the series). Anyways, tomorrow I'm off to Madrid, and I'll be back Sunday, and hopefully I'll get around to posting about it by sometime next week.

Oh, and also, this is beyond fantastic.
